Liam Narain DeTar is an award-winning musician best known as the founder and bandleader of Leeds based quintet Yaatri. Born in 1998 in Germany to Indian/ American parents, DeTar was raised in ten countries across four continents before moving to the North of England to pursue his craft.

Bringing together the multicultural sounds of his upbringing, jazz, electronic music and thoughtful songwriting, DeTar’s works have received support and praise from Rolling Stone Magazine India, Radio 1, Radio 6, Jamie Cullum, Jamz Supernova’s Selector Radio, Jazz FM, British Airways, Jazz North, Help Musicians, The Peter Whittingham Foundation, Leeds Conservatoire, and more.
DeTar has headlined jazz festivals, sold out shows around the UK and performed internationally with a number of rising stars of the UK's vibrant scene. The guitarist has co-written, recorded and toured with South London jazz/soul vocalist B-âhwe, toured and took part in Montreux Jazz Festival's artist residency with Gondwana Records newcomer Jasmine Myra, performed and toured with international guitar phenom Vieux Farka Touré, collaborated with Indian Classical virtuosos Zuheb Ahmed Khan, Ritesh Prassana, Mudassir Khan and New York dulcimer phenomenon Max ZT, produced alt-folk singer songwriter Rosie Miles' 'Still Life' EP and shared stages with Oscar Jerome, Richard Spaven, Noya Rao, Emma Rawicz and Myele Manzanza.
